The RSPB will be exploring a beautiful valley above Slaidburn with their first moorland walk of the season on Saturday 20th. If you can't make that date there will be another chance to join the RSPB on the 28th. The Ribble Rivers Trust venture out on a bat walk

Join Ribble Rivers Trust on a circular walk along the banks of the Hodder where we’ll learn more about these elusive nocturnal mammals. The evening begins with refreshments and a presentation about bats, their behaviour and how to detect them. As dusk closes in we will set off on our walk along the river and back through Slaidburn village. Slaidburn May Queen Festival

Have a perfect view of all the events on the village green from Riverbank Tearooms including our very own race for the staff! Last year it was a wheelbarrow race with real wheelbarrows, this year’s theme is yet to be announced! A traditional May Queen Festival, set within the Hodder Valley. Be entertained by the Slaidburn Silver Band, May Pole Dancing, races and more! Started in 1931, this historic festival is a firm favourite for families.

Slaidburn Steam and Vintage Vehicle Display 2019

The Steam Rally is an annual event held at the Hark to Bounty, Slaidburn organised by David McNamee.  Lots to see and do with several Steam Engines, the Original Bounty Bus, many vintage vehicles with cars, tractors and more! Stalls include local goods and demonstrations of traditional crafts. Admission is free but donations are always gratefully received and since the event started all those years ago, a total of £85,000 has been raised for many village groups and organisations.
